Schoolzilla offers the flexibility for your users to navigate to other resources and tools within and outside of Schoolzilla's products. There are three primary ways in which you can make it easier for people to move between their essential tools.
1: Navigation Bar Link to an External Tool
First, we offer the ability to configure a top-level navigation item and label, marked by a window/arrow icon. This link will open in a new tab. We recommend using this feature so that users can go seamlessly to a separate BI tool, your district's website or a key resource about using your data dashboards. In order to set this up, reach out to Support and our team will set it up for you.
- Provide a URL
- Provide a label value (up to 25 characters). If no label is provided, "Other Reports" will display by default.
- Please note: The icon is not configurable.

2: Navigation Bar Link to a Featured View or Group:
We offer the ability to configure a second top-level navigation item and label, marked by a star icon. This link will open in the same tab. We recommend using this feature so that users can go to a focus group or view on Our Students to focus in on specific students in one click. For example, you can use this link to go to our Ninth Grade Success focus kids or show chronically absent students. In order to set this up, reach out to Support, and our team will set it up for you.

- Provide a label value (up to 25 characters).

3: Metric/Tile Link
You can configure one link per metric tile, directly from Metric Settings, as shown below.
For all metrics EXCEPT metric uploads, here's where the tile link will be visible. The label for this link is not configurable.
For Metric Uploads, this URL and icon will be available from the main tile.
Who can configure these links and what do different roles see?
Please keep in mind who has access to these links and what content will appear based on roles. Be sure to follow your school system's policies about what users are able to see.
