Overview
IDEL is a formative assessment designed to measure the early literacy skills of students learning to read in Spanish in kindergarten through third grade.
The assessment consists of six measures. The range of scores for each measure corresponds with the student’s grade level and the benchmark period (BOY, MOY, EOY). Each measure is individually administered and can be used to monitor progress.
Students completing all applicable measures for their grade level and time of year are assigned an instructional recommendation (intensive, strategic, benchmark).
The assessment used to be administered through mClass but is now administered through University of Oregon. These are instructions from the mClass.
