Why are we making this change?
TLS 1.0/1.1 are older security protocols that allowed customers to securely access the Schoolzilla SQL Server database. Since then, more secure protocols have been developed to ensure that data stays safe when in transit from our servers. Because of the greatly enhanced security in newer protocols, and to ensure all data remains secure, TLS 1.0/1.1 have been deprecated on our SQL Servers (as of August 2021).
What is required to connect to your Schoolzilla Data Warehouse?
In many cases, no changes are required. If you are using current versions of Microsoft Windows and SQL Server Management Studio, Mac OS and Azure Data Studio, or Tableau, you should not be affected by this change.
If you are not running current versions of this software, you may need to update your system to utilize newer security protocols.
