Schoolzilla connects to PowerSchool using VPN* and ODBC**.
If PowerSchool hosts your instance, please start by following the directions below to request new credentials to access your system. (If a different vendor hosts, you can skip the next three steps.)
- Make sure you are the tech contact. Only the tech contact will be given this information.
- Contact PowerSchool either by phone or online. You’ll need your customer number (same as your PowerSchool ID, see below)
- Call Technical Support: 866-434-6276.
- Submit a support ticket.
- Request the following:
- Your external IP address
- Your VPN host (e.g. https://pseastvpn.powerschool.com, https://pswestvpn.powerschool.com, https://psncvpn.powerschool.com)
- That they provision a VPN account and share the credentials (username and password) with you
- That they reset your PSNavigator password and share with you
For all hosting methods, you will need to complete the PowerSchool Credentials form on My Data as well as the appropriate VPN form. For example, if your data are hosted by PowerSchool, you would submit the F5 VPN form. Please be sure to complete all fields within the forms - some may have suggested values but these need to be typed in before submitting.

If you or a vendor other than PowerSchool hosts your student information system, you will also need to provide VPN credentials. If you do not see your VPN listed on My Data, let us know which of the following types of VPN we can use to access your system: Cisco, F5, IPSec, L2TP, Pulse, SonicWall, and Windows (SSTP).
*Virtual Private Network (VPN): VPN gives Schoolzilla a highly secure way of connecting to the server that hosts your SIS. Think of this as the “pipe” that connects Schoolzilla to your data.
**Open Database Connectivity (ODBC): ODBC lets Schoolzilla pull important data out of your SIS and transport it through the secure VPN “pipe.” Think of this as the “valve” that lets Schoolzilla pump data out of your SIS and into your dashboards.
