Reading Inventory (formerly SRI)

Reading Inventory is an adaptive reading assessment administered multiple times a year to students K-12.

How We Connect

  1. Log into SAM.
  2. Click Roster.
    select the Roster tab
  3. Click on Export in the lower-right hand corner.
    select Export under Advanced Settings
  4. Click on the radio button for Export CSV Roster Data.

  5. Click Next in the bottom lower right-hand corner.
  6. Check the box at the top to select all students and choose All Teachers from the drop-down menu.

  7. Click Next again in the lower right-hand corner.
  8. Click the check box at the top again to select all classes.

  9. Click "Next" again in the lower right-hand corner.
  10. You will see this screen

  11. Click Next again in the lower right-hand corner.
  12. From the drop-down menu choose All Dates.

  13. Click Next again in the lower right-hand corner.

  14. Click Export in the lower left-hand corner.
  15. You will see this screen and can click Close in the bottom left corner.

  16. Go back to the other SAM window and click the Home tab.

  17. Click the Show me link.

  18. Click on the link to download the file.

  19. This file can be uploaded on your my data page.

Mappings Overview

The information below summarizes where key data elements are loaded from Scores Files submitted. The column names referenced may not match the column name in the file exactly as this changes over time.

Key Field(s) Mapping(s)

System Student ID

Scores are linked to students using the Student ID column in the file.

We match to students in the student information system using the following (in order of preference):

  1. The SISID matches the State Student ID in your SIS.
  2. The LastName, FirstName, and DateOfBirth columns exactly match the Last Name & First Name in your SIS.
  3. The SSID matches the System Student ID* in your SIS.
  4. The EXTERNAL_ID (if included) matches the Student Email in your SIS.

System School ID

Scores are linked to schools using the SchoolID column in the file. This is matched to a school in My Schools.

Please contact support to resolve incorrect or failed matches.

School Year

Scores are linked to school years using the SriTestDateX columns in the file.

Test Period

Scores are linked to test periods using the SriTestDateX column in the file.

Proficiency Score

Proficiency scores are loaded from the SriPerformanceLevelX columns in the file.
