School Leaders -
Here are some ways to use Schoolzilla to review and monitor student data as you prepare for and begin the new school year.
Back-to-school planning
- Review data from the previous year at the district and school level to identify bright spots and areas in need of attention in the new school year.
- Review metrics related to your district’s strategic plan or school improvement plans and identify gaps that need to be closed.
- Prepare to identify learning loss or gain by creating groups based on last year's assessments or grades. You will need to do this before assessments or grades for the new school year start flowing into Schoolzilla.
Identify students in need of immediate support
- Filter for students with behavior, academic, attendance or distance learning engagement issues from the previous year and create and share one or more student intervention groups with school leaders and teachers so they know which students may need support at the beginning of the year. You will need to do this before there is new school year data flowing into Schoolzilla.
- Review attendance data at the end of the first week to quickly identify students who have missed any days so you can connect with their families and come up with a plan to support them. Create a view based on your attendance metrics (i.e., attendance rate <=80% or absence count >= 1) to quickly identify students who have missed 1 or more days.
Additional Questions or Support
Talk to your Schoolzilla Administrator if you're interested in seeing more data in Schoolzilla, especially new data that matter for this unique school year. We have a few flexible ways to bring in student-level data (e.g., weekly engagement or well-being/SEL surveys), school-level data (e.g., staff surveys), or custom demographic groups (e.g., internet access at home) that will be critical for you to make well-rounded, informed decisions about your school.
As always, reach out to Support with any questions.
